VISION

Lyons Group, a Boston-based leader in hospitality management and marketing, partnered with RealFood to update a prime restaurant location at the gateway to Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, a favorite shopping and dining area in the city. Their vision was to transform the expansive space into a modern day-to-night French brasserie and café.

PROCESS

RealFood collaborated with the entire project team—owners, operators, architects, and interior designers—to produce a multi-faceted European dining experience. Following the vision of a premier French café and brasserie, the restaurant required a robust system of operational efficiencies to combine a café, multiple bars, and multi-floor indoor and outdoor dining.

OUTCOMES

To support the synthesis of this two-story, French-inspired harmony of espresso, homemade pastries, craft cocktails, and contemporary cuisine, RealFood designed the foodservice areas on each level, specifying and procuring the equipment for high-volume, multi-function operations. The first floor was designed to support baking and food preparation for the café. For the main kitchen on the second floor, RealFood designed an open format with a custom wood-fired grill and raw bar station. The kitchen designs streamlined operations for this vibrant crowning jewel of the Back Bay streetscape.
